The holidays will be here before we know it, and that’s especially true at Disney World!
It’s not quite Halloween yet, but we know that as soon as the clock strikes midnight on Nov. 1, it will be *poof* Christmas everywhere! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party starts on November 8th (and Magic Kingdom is already selling out for that date!), and Jollywood Nights begins the very next night — November 9th. But today, we’re already seeing a major Disney World holiday tradition in the works!
We just stopped by the Grand Floridian and were excited to see construction in the lobby!
Each year, the pastry chefs at Disney World put up a MASSIVE gingerbread house!
The house is made up of more than 10,000 pieces of gingerbread, many of them baked into the shape of the “shingles” you see being attached here.
Once completed, you’ll be able to buy yourself a gingerbread shingle and other sweet treats served up from inside the gingerbread house.
Gingerbread displays are a beloved tradition at Disney World — with other popular displays built at the Contemporary Resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Yacht Club, Beach Club, and BoardWalk Inn. Keep following DFB for all the details as this year’s gingerbread displays open!
