United has noted that it has plans for a new $300 million aircraft maintenance hangar in Orlando, making it the largest private aviation investment in MCO’s history.

In a statement, United’s Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances added, “This winter, we’re offering more flights to more destinations to give customers the widest range of places to explore.” As we head into the holiday season, no doubt air travel will be in heavy demand.

Last year, United Airlines was MCO’s seventh-largest airline and accommodated 4.36 million passengers. This new initiative combined with the aircraft maintenance hanger indicates the airline’s willingness to serve the Orlando area to a greater extent. The airport currently features 44 airlines, with 850 arrivals and departures daily.
