Donkey Kong swings back into action in a lush jungle adventure as Universal Studios Japan unveils an exciting new attraction, Donkey Kong Country, set to open in late 2024.

Donkey Kong Country was previously scheduled to open in the spring of 2024. They later stated the expansion was delayed and would open in the second half of 2024. Media has since said “late 2024.”

On the October 28 broadcast of Fuji TV’s “Call Teacher Tanaka,” Universal announced that the Super Nintendo World expansion would open at the “end of 2024.” This suggests the area might open in December, possibly just in time for Christmas and New Year’s.

Donkey Kong Country is an expansion to Super Nintendo World, which opened in March 2021. The land will include the roller-coaster Donkey Kong: Mine-Cart Madness. The coaster was first seen testing last December. Around the same time, we got our first look at the Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong Power-Up Bands, and merchandise.

Epic Universe, the third Universal Orlando Resort theme park set to open in May 2025, will open with Super Nintendo World, including Donkey Kong Country and Mine-Cart Madness. Check out our most recent Epic Universe construction update.
