Atmosphere

Despite its name, the Gurgling Suitcase isn’t just some gimmicky bar. In fact, it’s a charming little hideaway that feels worlds away from Disney World’s usual hustle and bustle.

Gurgling Suitcase

It’s situated right by the marina at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, and it gives off a beachy, relaxed vibe that’ll make you feel like you’ve stepped into an island bar somewhere in the Caribbean.

Inside, the seating is limited to just a few stools, which actually creates an intimate setting that feels cozy and chill.

If you’re looking for more space to stretch out, there’s plenty of outdoor seating with picnic tables lining the front patio area.

This setup is perfect for groups or anyone who wants to soak up the peaceful marina views while sipping a cocktail. The best part? The bar plays fantastic music that only amplifies the island vibe—it’s a little slice of paradise right within Disney’s walls.

Menu

Being that this spot is primarily a Key West-style bar, alcoholic drinks (cocktails, beer, hard cider, hard seltzer, and wine) take up most of the menu. The cocktails definitely help sell that you’re at an island bar in the Caribbean.

If you’re feeling hungry, they’ve also got some tasty bites you can try as well. Now, onto the main reason you’re here — the food and drinks.

Eats

First up, we started with a serving of the Savory Hushpuppies, which are Olivia’s Famous Recipe, and they’re served with Key Lime Mustard for $12. If you’re a hush puppy fan, these might just be the highlight of your Disney dining experience here.

Savory Hushpuppies

The hush puppies here are fried to golden perfection — crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. They’ve got a deliciously rich corn flavor, are super satisfying, and the portion is generous at seven hush puppies per order.

Savory Hushpuppies

The hush puppies come with a side of Key Lime Mustard sauce, which is a surprise star. This sauce has a honey mustard base with a twist of lime, and it pairs beautifully with the savory hush puppies. Even if you’re unsure about lime mustard (we initially gave it the side eye for a minute), trust us, this sauce is the perfect tangy complement and absolutely worth trying. Overall, you have to try the hush puppies here. They’re one of the biggest reasons to pop into the Gurgling Suitcase.

Next, we tried the House-Made Chips and Dip, which are Chips, Plant-based French Onion Dip, and Red Pepper Aïoli for $12.

House-Made Chips and Dip

For us, they were a bit of a mixed bag. The French Onion Dip is creamy, cold, and heavy on the onion flavor, they basically took the essence of French onion soup and transformed it into a dip. While the flavor is good, it might not be for everyone, especially if you’re not a huge onion fan.

The Red Pepper Aïoli, on the other hand, tastes very similar to red pepper hummus, with a mild pepper flavor that adds a subtle zing. It’s a nice, thick dip that pairs well with the chips but doesn’t particularly stand out as anything extraordinary.

The chips themselves are well-seasoned and taste a lot like kettle-cooked chips with a bit of a kick from paprika and chili powder. Overall, it’s a solid snack, but the hush puppies definitely steal the spotlight.

Lastly, no trip to an island-themed bar would be complete without a signature tropical cocktail, and the Turtle Krawl was the Gurgling Suitcase’s answer to that. This drink is made with Siesta Key White Rum, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, and Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum with Grenadine, Pineapple, Orange, and Key Lime Juices for $15.

That combination made it a fruity, refreshing option that isn’t overly strong on the alcohol taste. The pineapple and orange juices dominate the flavor profile, creating a bright, citrusy sweetness that’s easy to sip and super refreshing.

Turtle Krawl

The Turtle Krawl might not be the most unique cocktail, but it’s definitely a solid choice if you’re looking for something light and breezy to go with those marina views. Plus, it looks as vibrant and tropical as it tastes, making it a perfect drink to capture the Key West vibe.

So, what’s our verdict on the Gurgling Suitcase?!

Overall

All in all, Gurgling Suitcase is a unique, laid-back spot that brings a bit of Key West charm to Disney’s Old Key West Resort. With marina views, cozy outdoor seating, and delicious hush puppies, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for something a little off the beaten path.

Full Spread

The Turtle Krawl and chips make nice additions, but those hush puppies? Well, they’re the real reason to head to the Gurgling Suitcase. So, if you find yourself at Old Key West, you’ll definitely want to grab a seat, take in the view, and enjoy a quiet moment with a dash of island spirit.
