As part of the holiday celebrations at Walt Disney World, the 2024 Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll is now open. The Christmas Tree Stroll is a free activity where guests can pick up a map (or not) and explore themed Christmas trees around the shopping and dining district. Guests who choose to use a map can fill it out and turn it in to receive a free button.
The Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll is open from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. and will be available November 8 – December 30. This article will contain spoilers for the locations and themes of each tree.
2024 Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll
Map
Guests can pick up paper maps at the following locations:
- City Works Eatery & Pour House
- Crystal Arts by Arribas Brothers
- Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea Company
- The LEGO Store
- The Luxury of Time by Diamonds International
A digital map is available, but does not allow guests to place the corresponding stickers in order to receive a button.
Each sticker represents a different tree – like a Miguel sticker for the “Coco” tree.
The panels of the map advertise various Disney Springs holiday experiences, like nightly snowfall and the Santa Claus meet and greet. There are also two pages of offers for various Disney Springs shops and restaurants. These include discounts and free gifts.
The actual map is a minimalist bird’s eye view of Disney Springs with 21 Christmas tree icons where all the real-life Christmas trees are located. When you find a tree, place the corresponding sticker in the right location on the map. In the top left corner is the list of map distribution and redemption locations.
Trees
There are 21 unique themed trees this year. Some of them, as well as World of Disney windows, have sound effects or cause light/haptic effects when guests use a MagicBand+ to interact. These trees are marked with the MagicBand+ icon shown on the map.
Gone from last year are the Disney Vacation Club and “Frozen” trees. New this year is the World of Disney tree. The “Lilo & Stitch,” Walt Disney World, and sphere trees weren’t on last year’s stroll, but similar trees have been included in the past. Some other trees have updated decorations.
Toy Story
The first tree we found was the “Toy Story” tree. This was near T-Rex. It features homemade-style decorations like paper chains and snowflakes, as well as some classic baubles. On top of the tree is Angel Kitty.
Each tree has a sign with a quote and image of the corresponding sticker. This is also where the MagicBand+ icon will be located with instructions. We waved our arms and thought we heard a Buzz Lightyear sound.
Various “Toy Story” characters are tucked into the tree, some with holiday elements. Rex is wearing a striped bowtie. There are green alien baubles and sheriff’s badges.
The more traditional ornaments include Santa Claus figures, felt stockings, and stained glass-style baubles. Look closely at the paper chains — there are tiny green aliens standing on the rings.
Coco
The “Coco” tree, located behind D-Luxe Burger, is decorated like an ofrenda. There are orange marigolds, fruits, and bread. Strings of beads are wrapped around the tree.
Near the top is a skeleton with its hands around the framed photo of Mama Imelda, Héctor, and Coco. Below the photo are two versions of Héctor’s guitar — his real one and the one Miguel created.
The rest of Miguel’s late family also have their portraits on the tree. There are shoes, representing the Rivera business. Fake candles sit in nests of marigolds. The lyrics of “Remember Me” are printed on signs throughout the tree. There are colorful lights.
When you wave your MagicBand+ at this tree, it makes a guitar sound.
The Lion King
This tree is near Cirque du Soleil and House of Blues. It’s in a planter next to a palm tree. The decorations appear to be made of natural materials like carved wood.
The sign features the MagicBand+ icon but we couldn’t get any effects to activate.
This tree is topped with a sculpture of baby Simba. The figure is held up by Rafiki’s hands, which are made of wood and twine. Below the tree topper is a bow made out of tropical leaves.
There are carved and painted masks representing Mufasa and Scar. Another carved piece is Mufasa’s large pawprint and Simba’s small print. Thick ribbons strung through the tree feature a cheetah print.
African instruments and balls of rope are tucked into the tree with brown and gold ornaments.
Sphere
This “tree” is made of gold metal spheres with sparkly white “ornaments.” It’s located at the exit of Orange Garage outside the AMC Dine-In theater.
It doesn’t have any MagicBand+ interactions.
Guardians of the Galaxy
The Guardians of the Galaxy is outside the former NBA Experience/DisneyQuest, across from House of Blues. It has silver metallic rings around it. Instead of garlands, it features strips of fabric inspired by Star-Lord’s bag strap.
MagicBand+ lights up and plays a snippet of Star-Lord’s favorite music.
A pair of Star-Lord’s masks are at the top of the tree. Other decorations include spaceships, cassette tapes, and pieces of scrap metal. Shiny baubles are reminiscent of planets.
Star-Lord’s Walkman is tucked into the tree, with Awesome Mix Vol. 1 inside. A cord leading out of it connects to his headphones.
A figure of Baby Groot dancing is facing the sidewalk. He has string lights draped over him.
Mickey & Minnie
Between T-Rex and the LEGO Store is the Mickey and Minnie tree. On top of the tree is a red velvet top hat with a pair of black mouse ears. Decorations include shiny gold mouse-shaped ornaments with top hats and bows to represent the couple.
At this tree, our MagicBand+ lit up but did not make any sound. The tree features flat holly decorations with Mickey-shaped berries, polka-dot bows, red bells, and snowflakes with Mickey-shaped centers.
Next to the red top hat is a green top hat and a brown top hat. There are clusters of translucent snowflakes. Sparkly black balls are wrapped with ribbons of music stanzas.
The Haunted Mansion
This year, the Haunted Mansion tree is under cover in Town Center, near lululemon. This tree is packed full of references to the classic Disney attraction, from Madame Leota’s headstone to the ghostly bride herself.
When you wave your MagicBand+, you’ll hear a heartbeat sound and feel a heartbeat vibration.
A “floating” candelabra is in front of a mirror and above a rug, representing the endless hallway. There are antique-inspired gold and bronze decorations like a birdcage. A ship figure represents some of the mansion’s nautical residents.
Madame Leota’s headstone reads “Dear sweet Leota, beloved by all, in regions beyond now, but having a ball.” It’s surrounded by dead-looking plants and red flowers. The tree also features white flowers and leaves.
Near the bride is a full wedding cake. The groom on the cake topper is missing his head.
The bride is sitting in the side of the tree, her white gown cascading towards the base. She holds a bouqet of dark flowers. Pearls hang from the bouquet and around her neck.
A crown of black and white flowers is on her head. Her veil falls over her ghostly green face. Blue lights shine from within the veil.
On top of the tree are dozens of twigs. A black bird with red eyes, referencing the mansion’s raven, is perched on a twig/ There is a large clock and a lantern.
Disney+
The Disney+ tree is outside a World of Disney entrance. Inspired by the streaming service’s logo, the tree features mostly blue, teal, white, and silver ornaments. Many are stacked close to each other, wrapping around the tree.
A sign advertises “The Santa Clauses” and “The Wonderful Winter of Mickey Mouse” on Disney+. More original shows and holiday classics are represented on the tree, too.
The topper is a giant version of the Disney+ logo. Near the top is a figure of Miss Minutes, the TVA’s orange clock mascot in “Loki.” Around an ornament for National Geographic’s “Secret of the Octopus” are octopus figures and coral. Zero the dog represents “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
A “Home Alone” ornament hangs above a window decoration. There are decorations honoring Pixar’s first-ever TV series, “Win or Lose,” coming to Disney+ this December. The series follows the Pickles, a kids’ softball team, so the decorations include a Pickles-branded bat, ball ornament, and glove.
The TARDIS from “Doctor Who” is featured in a blue and purple vortext. The long-running British sci-fi series joined Disney+ last year. A spinoff series is also in the works.
A green backpack full of pencils, paintbrushes, paper, and candy canes represents “Abbott Elementary.” There’s also a red apple sitting next to the bag.
“Wish” is represented by golden flowers and a Star ornament. The Planet Express ship from “Futurama” is featured in front of a planet backdrop.
A Grogu plush represents “The Mandalorian.” MagicBand+ lights up at this tree.
Encanto
The “Encanto” tree is on the side of World of Disney, near Basin. It features garlands of flowers, seemingly summoned by Isabela. The other decorations also represent the powers of “Encanto” characters.
Our MagicBand+ lit up at this tree but there are no special sounds.
White and yellow butterflies seem to fly around a decoration inspired by Abuela’s door. There are large golden ornaments. Hanging next to her door is a watch and key.
Around Mirabel’s door are butterfly ornaments inspired by the embroidery on her skirt. There is green glass, representing Bruno’s prophecies. Bird ornaments represent Antonio.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Next to the Exposition Park food trucks on the West Side of Disney Springs is the “Nightmare Before Christmas” tree. It has a mix of classic and spooky decorations. There are colorful shiny babules and haphazard Christmas lights.
On top is Zero’s doghouse. If you wave your MagicBand+, you’ll hear a bark and see a figure of Zero float around the house. Skeletal hands stick out of the tree below the house.
Some of Sally’s potions ingredients and Dr. Finkelstein’s science equipment is in the tree. Large pinstriped bows resemble Jack’s suit. There are jack-o’-lanterns and Jack-inspired ornaments.
Another pair of skeleton hands holds a white spider cutout. A present is wrapped with coffin paper. The scary teddy appears to be flying.
A large yellow medallion showcases Jack and Sally on the twisted mountaintop. The orange and black snake is also wrapped around the tree.
Walt Disney World
Outside World of Disney is the Walt Disney World tree. This features elements of all four Walt Disney World theme parks. There are flat decorations of each park’s icon.
MagicBand+ lights up at this tree.
Cinderella Castle is on the top of the tree, with metal and tinsel fireworks jutting out from behind it. Below it is a blue and silver ribbon. There’s a flat Monorail train among the colorful ornaments.
EPCOT is represented by a purple and white version of Spaceship Earth. Nearby is a Disney Skyliner gondola, boats, and large star ornaments. There are some Mickey-shaped ornaments hidden in the tree.
Other modes of Disney transportation are represented, like with this flat tram and bus.
A carved giraffe mask is next to the Tree of Life. It’s surrounded by gold, brown, and yellow ornaments.
Film strip ribbon and a film reel are in the tree near the Hollywood Tower Hotel. Below the icon is a clapboard reading “Disney’s Hollywood Studios” and “Mickey Goes Hollywood.”
Wish
The “Wish” tree joined the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll last year. It’s behind Wetzel’s Pretzels, near the bridge. Of course, Star is on top of the tree.
When you wave your MagicBand+, the tree makes sparkle noises and the lights flicker.
There is a figure of Valentino, Asha’s goat friend. He has his tongue out to catch some falling stardust. There are large shiny orbs similar to the wishes in the film.
A log features mushrooms and tiny rabbits. Other whimsical plants represent the forest.
World of Disney
New this year is a tree just for World of Disney. It’s in one of the store’s display windows near the “Encanto” tree. All of the windows are lined with holiday decals. They display decorations and merchandise.
The tree might be a little difficult to see depending on where the sun is shining. Each window is part of a “chapter” and the tree is in the “Chapter 6: Holiday Dreams Come True” window.
The sign for the tree is on a shelf of retro holiday décor.
Though the regular sign doesn’t have the MagicBand+ icon, there is a decal displaying the icon and a Mickey icon you can tap your band against. When you do so, a screen on the other side of the glass wishes you “Happy Holidays” by name.
The tree is wrapped in silver tinsel and gold string lights. It features some simple ornaments as well as Disney ornaments you can buy on property. One features Mickey painting an image of Minnie. Another shows the Polynesian’s Maui icon.
We spotted the Fort Wilderness Chip ‘n’ Dale ornament and an Art of Animation ornament featuring Ariel.
Moana 2
The “Moana” tree now represents “Moana 2,” although it’s not decorated very different from previous years. The shell Moana places at the top of her island is on top of the tree.
Moana’s outrigger is on one side, with blue organza around it representing the ocean. Carved turtle figures are in the “water.” There are tropical flowers and colorful baubles.
This tree is by the AMC Dine-In entrance near Orange Garage. Your MagicBand+ will light up different shades of blue.
A couple of Kakamora are in the tree. There are seashell and sea star ornaments. A Hei Hei figure is on some bamboo sticking out of the tree.
Once Upon a Toy
In a flowerbed outside Once Upon a Toy is a tree covered in toy-inspired decorations. It’s also surrounded by giant gift-wrapped boxes.
There is no MagicBand+ interaction at this tree.
It’s topped with a unique tinsel star with an orange gem in the center. Wrapped around the tree are strings of giant beads and balls of string.
Small lights are are strung through every branch. There are shiny bauble ornaments as well as bells, stockings pinecones, berries, snowflakes, and plush gingerbread men. Some ornaments appear to be made of paper or cardboard.
A fabric wreath is covered in buttons. In the center is a reindeer head made of peanuts, similar to large decorations also displayed at Disney Springs.
Among the presents at the bottom of the tree are homemade-looking toys like a clown doll, a duck, and a poodle.
Town Center
The largest tree of Disney Springs is in the middle of Town Center, near Anthropologie. It’s surrounded by a fence and some decorative gift boxes. The tree is about the height of the nearby buildings.
It has no MagicBand+ interactions. The decorations are more traditional and vintage-style than many of the other trees. There are succulents, strings of rhinestones, and silver baubles.
Red and white bows are where gold tinsel meets the tree. Some of the plain ornaments are dark red, burnt orange, and yellow-gold.
Disney Treasure
Near the guest services building, also in Town Center, is the Disney Cruise Line “tree.” This tree is actually a topiary shaped like a ship. Like last year, the ship represents the Disney Treasure, which launches next month.
It has a green base with gold running around it, leading to the “Disney Treasure” logo. A large gem is on the front of the topiary, with holly around it. It plays a horn sound, “When You Wish Upon a Star,” and “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.”
The ship features the dark blue, red, white, and yellow colorway of all Disney Cruise Line ships. There are magenta and teal-colored gems around the logo.
Star Wars
C-3PO is on top of the “Star Wars” tree this year. Chewbacca’s bandolier wraps around the tree like garlands. Among the ornaments are full-size Stormtrooper helmets.
Bauble ornaments are painted with the Rebel Alliance logo and different “Star Wars” ships. There are orange and white ornaments resembling BB-8. The tree makes droid sounds when you wave your MagicBand+.
Jawas with gold eyes and brown hoods are hidden among the branches. An Ewok’s bow and quiver of arrows is near the base. This tree is outside the LEGO Store.
Lilo & Stitch
The new-ish “Lilo & Stitch” tree is covered in bright blue and gold ornaments and tropical flowers. On top is a tuft of blue plants and part of a surfboard. Decorations include a flat of LIlo’s dress and hula outfit.
It lights up shades of blue, like the “Moana 2” tree. It’s also outside the AMC Dine-In entrance.
Seashells, pineapples, and coral are among the tree branches. Hanging signs on the tree read “Ohana.” There are guitars and records.
A small sandy scene features a sandcastle and Lilo’s vintage camera. A photo of her family, with Stitch pasted in, is on a stand. A photo of Stitch dressed as Elvis also hangs nearby.
The record is labeled “Ohana Records.” It’s “Suspicion” by Elvis.
The Princess and the Frog
Next to Exposition Park is the “Princess and the Frog” tree featuring Mardi Gras-inspired décor. Among the branches are instruments like saxophones. On top is a gold fleur-de-lis.
There are purple and green flowers among shiny baubles. Ribbons and beads are draped over the branches.
A tiny table near the bottom is laid with confections presumably crafted by Tiana. Mossy branches represent the bayou.
Though this tree’s sign indicates it has MagicBand+ interactions, it didn’t do anything for us.
Annual Passholders
Last but not least is the Annual Passholder tree, slightly updated from last year. It now features large decorations inspired by Mickey balloons. It’s located under the Town Center cover outside Sugarboo & Co.
On top is a yellow and silver star featuring the Mickey Mouse Annual Passholder logo. It has red bows with Disney Parks buttons pinned to their centers. Gold paper chains run around the tree.
Frame ornaments feature versions of the Passholder logo with Mickey wearing a Santa hat. Tiny gift boxes also feature the logo. There are sparkly star-like ornaments.
There are some paper chains made of Disney Parks maps. A Mickey “tapstile” like you might see at the front of the park is near the bottom. There are Mickey ice cream bars on ribbons.
When you wave your MagicBand+, the tree plays the sound you hear when you enter a Disney park.
