“It Didn’t Need To Go This Hard” We Tried the NEW Treats at Disney’s Riviera Resort and Have THOUGHTS

We are enjoying all the holiday treat offerings Disney World is offering this year!

Le Petit at Disney’s Riviera Resort

The next stop on our holiday snacking tour is over at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Le Petit Café is a small French café where you can grab some tasty coffee and pastries in the morning and wine and hors d’oeuvres in the evening. There is a variety of French pastries served here, from tarts to macarons to croissants and more. Seasonal offerings are also commonly offered here, so we stopped by to grab a couple of holiday treats!

Over at Le Petit, we grabbed ourselves the Gingerbread Eggnog Entremet (new) and the Gingerbread Cookie!

We can’t wait to dive in!

The Gingerbread Cookie is a European-style gingerbread with dark chocolate and a sugar glaze. You can grab it at Le Petit for $4.99.

Gingerbread Cookie

The European gingerbread was great! It was soft and fluffy on the inside and really, very good gingerbread. We prefer the gingerbread to almost any other gingerbread we’ve had so far this year. However, they should have just left the gingerbread alone. The sugar glaze was too much. It added a crunch on top that the fluffy cookie just didn’t need. Then, the chocolate that was on the back took it overboard. The milky chocolate taste on the bottom, then cushiony gingerbread in the center, and the crunchy glaze on top didn’t make for a great texture sandwich for us.

Honestly, it didn’t need to do this much or go this hard. We would have loved this if it was simply JUST the gingerbread cookie without all the extra distractions.

Milk chocolate back

Next, we tried the new Gingerbread Eggnog Entremet for $7.29. This is a gingerbread financier with eggnog panna cotta and raspberry gel, and it was a bit of a high price for what we got, but it was still good.

Gingerbread Eggnog Entremet

The raspberry gel was delicious! You can definitely taste the raspberry, and it tastes very fresh. The panna cotta had a great consistency for a panna cotta. It was like a pudding that stayed together really well, like a panna cotta should. It has a nice, light eggnog flavor. You can definitely taste the eggnog, so you’ll need to like eggnog to enjoy this treat.

The treat had a nice texture and consistency

The financier is where the gingerbread is, and it’s very, very soft and moist. It’s not crumbly or crunchy like you might expect a gingerbread cookie to be. Overall, the treat is definitely on the fancier side, and for $7.29, you’re getting a fairly small dessert with a hole in the middle. It’s a great treat to splurge on, but we probably wouldn’t get it every time we’re at Le Petit.

It’s a little pricey

Le Petit wasn’t our only stop at the Riviera. We also stopped by Primo Piatto, a quick-service restaurant that has a grab-and-go selection.

Primo Piatto

We grabbed the seasonal Apple-Fragipane Tart for $6.99 here. It is a puff pastry with fall spice frangipane, apples, and whipped mascarpone panna cotta.

Apple-Frangipane Tart

This tart reminded us a lot of an apple pie with a crisp, crunchy crust. However, we would have liked more tartness from the apples. The mascarpone panna cotta adds a bit of a sour taste to the treat, but the apples are just really sweet without any tartness you might get from granny smith apples in an apple pie. It’s a good mix of sour and sweet, but we might have expected even more of the tartness. The apples were crisp with a crunchy snap as you bite into them, but the middle is soft and gel-like, so it will likely get a little messy on you if you’re walking and eating it.

Overall, this was a solid treat that we would grab again!

It’s really soft and messy on the inside!

If you’re looking for some good holiday treats to splurge on, you might want to consider heading over to the Riviera Resort! You can catch the Skyliner from several other hotels or from Hollywood Studios or EPCOT to swing by for a quick snack.
