With holes, scratches, and dirt, the King Triton statue in Magic Kingdom has once again fallen into disrepair. The Prince Eric’s Village Market menu board located next door has also been significantly faded.

King Triton Statue

Statue of King Triton holding a trident, seated in front of a rustic, stone-walled building with arched doorways.

Back in 2023, we noted just how grimy and scratched-up the statue was compared to its original appearance. Disney removed the statue in October 2023, and King Triton didn’t return refurbished until September 2024. Now in June 2025, Triton could once again use some TLC.

Beyond just a layer of dirt — to be expected for a man who stands shirtless outside all day — one of the glaring problems with Triton is a hole in his side. Some of the sculpture’s faux wood outer layer has been fully chipped away.

The King Triton statue’s left hand has seen better days. There are several spots where paint is chipped, and it’s starting to turn black with grime.

Hopefully, Disney gives him a manicure and some stitches soon.

Prince Eric’s Village Market

The menu board on the outside of the Prince Eric’s Village Market kiosk is so faded, you can barely see the Seaside Serenade picture anymore. For comparison, the picture on the left is the faded sign, while the picture on the right is the sign under the roof cover. The background of the outdoor sign has gone from its usual orange-brown to a pale pink.

Both King Triton and Prince Eric’s Village Market are located across from Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid in Fantasyland.
