A tropical wave is creating disorganized showers and thunderstorms connected to the hurricane. The environmental conditions seem to be conducting a gradual development of the storms. The NHC has said this could lead to a tropical depression later this week.

This depression should move westward across the central Atlantic toward the Leeward Islands. The NHC has said formation over the next 48 hours is low. Chances of formation over the next 7 days are 50%. This comes after Hurricane Erin was upgraded to a Category 5 Hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 160 mph.
