REVIEW! The Cream Cheese Float Is Out, and a Cherry Sundae Is IN for the Holidays in Disney World!

We’re REALLY glad we wore our stretchy pants today because we’ve eaten so many holiday treats already (and it’s only the first day of the season)!

Christmas in the Magic Kingdom

As we’ve walked around the Magic Kingdom, we’ve tried Gingerbread and Apple Churros, Let It Snow Taco, and the very strange Pistachio Chai Tea Float. But, even though we’ve been making our snack list and checking it twice, there was a SURPRISE dessert that popped up over at Storybook Treats!

Since Halloween is officially over in the parks, Storybook Treats has said goodbye to the Poor Unfortunate Soul Float and hello to the new Minnie’s Merry Cherry Sundae for the holidays instead!

Today, guests who got in line could choose what item they would like ahead of time to keep up with distancing and health and safety measures at the quick-service location. Although Storybook has switched out its Halloween treat for a Christmas dessert, the order slip still stated the seasonal option as the “Poor Soul” Float (whoops!).

However, Minnie’s Merry Cherry Sundae has the exact opposite flavors as its Halloween counterpart, combining up cherry and vanilla soft-serve with hot fudge, whipped cream, holiday sprinkles, and a chocolate Minnie bow on top.

We’ve had some pretty mixed feelings about holiday soft-serve flavors that Disney World has been fixated on during Christmastime. Last year, we saw the Pistachio-Cherry Float make its way to Aloha Isle with a SUPER strong cherry flavor. We had some trouble deciding how we felt about the cherry soft-serve last Christmas, and we kind of feel the same way this year too!

The vanilla soft-serve helps tone done the cherry flavor a bit, along with the helping of hot fudge and whipped cream on top. If you love treats that are a little more on tart side or you’re just a BIG fan of all things cherry, we think that Minnie Merry Cherry Sundae would be a great break from all the gingerbread or chocolate treats for $6.49.

Buuut, we do have to say that we miss that AMAZING Gingerbread Sundae that appeared at Storybook Treats last year (fingers crossed it returns as a surprise somewhere around the parks soon)! We’ve still got a whole lot of treats and reviews to share with you, so be sure to keep up with our Christmas snack crawl through Disney World!
