Things to Do

This year’s event features 8 haunted houses, 4 scare zones, the return of Blumhouse on the Terror Tram, a stunt show in the WaterWorld arena, and a special, limited-time appearance from HamiKuma.

Haunted Houses

Five Nights at Freddy’s

Can you last even one night at Freddy’s? In this haunted house, you’ll start the night watch at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, and come face-to-face with the animatronics Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy.

Tracker Tip: Jim Henson’s Creature Shop worked in collaboration with Universal to create exact replicas of the Freddy, Foxy, Bonnie, Chica, and Cupcake characters. They’re full-scale puppets, so when you see them, you’re seeing the real thing come to life!

Terrifier

Based on all three of Damien Leone’s Terrifier films, this haunted house will take you inside the Terrifier funhouse from Terrifier 2. See Art the Clown’s disgusting “creations,” run into Vicky and the Little Pale Girl, and literally get wet on your way out.

Tracker Tip: Despite Universal advertising that there’s “no wet path” in this version of the house, we didn’t notice any water at the end where we expected to get wet. Also, don’t miss the guest-activated trigger (G.A.T.) in the scene where a kid is eating Art Crispies with a heart in the bowl!

Fallout

Based on the Amazon Prime TV series, Fallout brings you to post-apocalyptic Los Angeles following nuclear war. Travel into the vaults and survive against raiders with Lucy, escape into the wasteland and confront The Ghoul, and encounter Maximus and the Brotherhood of Steel.

Tracker Tip: Keep an eye out for a secret character from Season 2 of the TV show inside the house! The new season releases on Amazon Prime on December 17.

WWE Presents: The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks

Go head-to-head with the famous Wyatt Sicks of WWE infamy in this haunted house. Enter their eerie arena and travel through the minds of Uncle Howdy, Rambling Rabbit, Mercy the Buzzard, Abby the Witch, and Huskus the Pig.

Tracker Tip: Though it is definitely helpful to read up on the WWE lore of the Wyatt Sicks and Bray Wyatt, we think it’s still a great haunted house experience, even if you’re not familiar with the overall story.

Jason Universe

Jason Voorhees is back in this haunted house celebrating several of the Friday the 13th films. Flee into the woods and step into Jason’s shack, before venturing into the summer camp where his legend began.

Poltergeist

This haunted house brings the 1982 classic horror film to life once again. Step into the house lit by the glow of the TV and cross over into another world as you face the Beast.

Tracker Tip: This haunted house returns from its first appearance at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2018.

Monstruos 3: The Ghosts of Latin America

La Muerte is back to guide you through three ghostly legends of Latin America in this original house: La Llorona, La Muelona, and La Siguanaba.

Tracker Tip: This is the third installment of the Monstruos original house series. Previous houses in the trilogy were Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America (2023) and Monstrous 2: The Nightmares of Latin America (2024).

Scarecrow: Music by Slash

This original haunted house will bring you to an abandoned Depression-era farm, where scarecrows seek revenge on the humans who ravaged their land. New for this year, the house features an original score by Slash.

Tracker Tip: This haunted house is not only returning from Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2022, but is also Orlando in 2017. You can also experience a version of this house at Universal Horror Unleashed in Las Vegas — which we did! Check out our blog from that visit.

Scare Zones

Murder of Crowz

This scare zone, located in Universal Plaza near The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, brings you inside a massive crow’s nest, where the flock defends its territory by pecking your bones clean.

Noche de Brujas

This scare zone is located in Universal Plaza on the Upper Lot, just outside of Super Silly Fun Land. Here, evil witches from Latin American legends will hunt you down and trap you within their enchantments.

Chainsaw Clownz

If you’re scared of clowns, you’ll be happy to know this scare zone also features them wielding chainsaws. Fun! It’s located in the Hollywood section on the Upper Lot.

Carnival of Carnage

This scare zone, located in Universal Plaza across from where you can meet HamiKuma, brings the carnival to town. Enter a seedy sideshow where “clownz” will make you part of the show.

Tracker Tip: Despite the name, this scare zone seemingly has no ties to Jack the Clown or lore related to the Halloween Horror Nights icon.

Terror Tram: Enter the Blumhouse

Blumhouse is back aboard the Terror Tram this year, celebrating villains from the studio’s films across the past 15 years. You’ll cross paths with M3GAN, The Grabber from The Black Phone films, members of The Purge, The Blissfield Butcher from Freaky, The Babyface Killer from Happy Death Day, and more.

Tracker Tip: Look for the “Log Bunny,” the unofficial mascot of the Terror Tram. John Murdy, creative director of Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood, and his crew found the log behind the Bates Motel set one day, and took him to the Backlot rest area, where they put a set of devil horns on it. When the devil horns mysteriously disappeared, a pair of bunny ears was added in their place. Murdy and his team would move the Log Bunny to a new spot every night, earning its status as a fan-favorite “character.”

Entertainment

The Purge: Dangerous Waters

This show held in the WaterWorld arena will bring you into the world of The Purge with fire, stunts, and more.

Chainsaw Man: The Chaos

This Universal Studios Japan show, presented in the DreamWorks Theatre, makes its Hollywood debut this year. In the original storyline, characters from the Chainsaw Man anime Denji, Aki, Power, Kobeni, and more battle the Halloween Horror Nights Devil and their army of zombies.

Opening Scaremonies

In addition, the Opening Scaremonies for the event will take place each night in the Carnival of Carnage scare zone.

HamiKuma

For a limited time this season, HamiKuma, HHN icon from Universal Studios Japan, is meeting guests for the first time ever at Universal Studios Hollywood. Guests could meet the zombie bear during normal park hours (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) on the Upper Lot in Universal Plaza. We also got to meet HamiKuma when visiting Universal Horror Unleashed — check out that blog and video!

In addition, a HamiKuma dessert is also available, featuring layers of chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream, raspberry jam and assorted candies and sprinkles, topped with an edible HamiKuma medallion. You can find the treat at the Plaza Cart in Universal Plaza, across from his meet and greet.

Tracker Tip: Despite being advertised as limited time through September 15, we were able to meet HamiKuma during our visit after that date. Be sure to check with a Team Member to make sure whether or not HamiKuma is meeting guests on the day of your visit.

Art the Clown

Keep your eyes peeled for Art the Clown, who will pop up at various locations throughout Halloween Horror Nights. You never know where he might appear next.
