Figment Animatronic on Journey Into Imagination Replaced with Limited Movement Figure

A Figment animatronic on Journey Into Imagination in EPCOT has been temporarily replaced.

Figment Temporarily Replaced

A toy giraffe in a yellow hoodie sits on a ledge, evoking classic Disney park nostalgia like Figment at Epcot's Imagination Pavilion.

This is the second Figment animatronic on the ride, located on a platform next to the entrance to the touch and taste labs. Reportedly, the regular animatronic is receiving refurbishment.

A purple dragon inspired by the 1983 Epcot Figment figure stands on a striped platform under dramatic, Disney-style lighting.

This “new” Figment animatronic has been going viral because of how different it looks from its more modern counterparts. Above is the replacement animatronic side by side with the regular animatronic. The figure has considerably less movement and looks “chubbier” than the regular animatronic. He’s still wearing his yellow sweater, although it doesn’t seem to fit quite right.

You can see the regular animatronic in our Journey Into Imagination with Figment POV video below.
