As fans of the Disney parks, we know it takes a team of dedicated Cast Members working both “on stage” and behind the scenes to make the magic happen.

One of the things that sets Disney parks apart is the incredible attention to detail throughout the attractions, as well as the restaurants and stores throughout the parks.
And while many of the details throughout the parks are hidden for Disney sleuths to seek out, others are front-and-center — like the window displays at the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A.
A Window Display At The Emporium
A number of talented artists have worked on these window displays throughout the years, including John Leland, a puppet designer who helped create window displays for the Emporium at both Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom in Disney World.

Leland had a hand in creating window displays for a number of Disney films, including Bedknobs and Broomsticks and 101 Dalmations. He also worked with prominent puppeteer Bob Baker to develop a line of Disney-licensed marionettes in the 1990s.
The Emporium
As reported by Variety, John Leland passed away on Thursday morning at age 91. In addition to his work with Disney, his legacy includes productions for cruise ships, television, commercials, and department store interior designs.
