What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge: Construction, Muffins, and More!

Hello, DFB friends! We spent a day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as well as at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Animal Kingdom

So what’s new since the last we visited these two locations? Keep reading to find out!

Animal Kingdom Food Updates

ACE Mobile Cart

We noticed that the ACE Mobile Cart now haws the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin in the mornings.

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin

We’ve seen this muffin in other locations at the park, too. It’s not only MEGA pretty with that oddly perfect swirl of cream cheese on top, but it tastes pretty great too!

We also noticed the cart sells coffee in the mornings! Gotta’ get that caffeine jump start at the beginning of the day, right? A cup is $3.50.

Sure, it’s not Starbucks, but sometimes you just want a basic cheap cup of joe, are we right?

Harambe Fruit Market

If you’re looking to get your Mickey pretzel fix, you’re in luck — Harambe Fruit Market still has the Mickey pretzels!

Mickey Pretzel

We also saw the Mickey pretzel at Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks, but there was still no sign of the Simba pretzel.

Animal Kingdom Merchandise Updates

Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures

We saw a SWEEEET Mermaid Beanie at Chester & Hester’s! The knit cap has a mermaid scale pattern on it, with a purple pom-pom on top. It also has “Mermaid” embroidered at the bottom with Ariel’s Dinglehopper!

Mermaid Beanie

This beanie is $21.99. Hey, mermaids have to keep their heads warm, too!

Check out the Betsey Johnson Little Mermaid Collection that came out earlier this year!

Animal Kingdom Construction Updates

The mysterious little building in Kilimanjaro Safaris is coming right along — construction almost seems to be complete.

We can’t wait to find out what this is for.

Animal Kingdom Other Updates

We noticed that many of the attractions at Animal Kingdom now have signs telling guests that they aren’t allowed to eat or drink once they get in line for those rides.

No eating or drinking in line sign

We noticed them most recently at Kilimanjaro Safaris, Triceratop Spin, and Dinosaur. We’ve seen these signs throughout Disney World, but we’re starting to see a lot more of them!

Animal Kingdom Lodge Food Updates

Maji Pool Bar

Over at Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Maji Pool Bar has the same two food items it had back in October. One is a Roast Turkey Sandwich on whole wheat bread with arugula, bacon, and Sambal mayonnaise for $9.29. The other is a Tuna Salad Pita Platter for $9.99.

Maji Pool Bar Specials

It looks like these two items are sticking around for the time being!

Animal Kingdom Lodge Construction Update

The Mara

The Mara is still closed, but we noticed a small construction area set up just outside.

Construction outside The Mara

There’s no indication of what this construction area is set up for, though.

Here’s where you can still get zebra domes at Animal Kingdom Lodge

Animal Kingdom Lodge Lobby

We also noticed signs in the lobby informing guests of the upcoming scheduled power outages at the resort. These intermittent outages will begin on November 19th at 11:59PM and end on November 20th at 4AM.

Guests can get updates on the power outages from their in-room TVs and in-room voicemails.

That’s pretty much it for our time around Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge, but we’ll be back soon with even more updates, so stay tuned!
