First Order Cargo’s transformation into Black Spire Surplus has begun at Disneyland. The Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge shop is changing as part of the land’s timeline shift.
First Order Cargo Becoming Black Spire Surplus
The store is still listed as First Order Cargo in the Disneyland app and still has First Order banners framing its entrance. But the formerly sleek and pristine shelving units are now weathered and props have were replaced.
The shelving units at the front of the store are now gray and orange with rust details. The mounted blaster has been painted black with weathering making it look old.
Other shelving units in the store have been given similar weathering details and draped with camo netting.
The Stormtrooper helmets, blasters, and clean white and black crates atop the units have been mostly replaced. New storage boxes are various natural colors and covered with straps and rope. One Stormtrooper blaster appears to have been broken apart.
Where there was previously a full Stormtrooper suit on display there is now a boxy prop. It’s some kind of padded item with straps wrapped around it and tubing on top. Glass was removed from the front of the display case and it received a metal hexagonal lining.
A Stormtrooper helmet remains among a variety of beat-up black crates. Black semi-circle decorations and a crate feature the Imperial logo.
There are a couple of MSE-6 “mouse” droids hidden among the junk. Some tins hold what appear to be medical supplies. Additional wiring and tubing has been added to the ceiling. The weathered walls and lighting all appear to be the same.
Though the store currently still offers First Order and Imperial merchandise, it will soon become a “a military salvage operation offering artifacts from across the history of the galaxy, including Imperial and Rebel items from the Galactic Civil War.” In the new backstory, it is operated by two retired Clone Troopers, one who sympathized with the Rebellion, and another who was a supporter of the Galactic Empire.

Half of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland will be set during the original trilogy of Star Wars films while the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance half will remain set during the sequels. The change will officially go into effect on April 29, 2026.
