What’s New in Magic Kingdom: Chilly Temps, Holiday Merchandise Discounts, and MAJOR Construction!

It’s the holiday season at Disney World!

Magic Kingdom Train Station

You can bet we’ve spent much of our time strolling through a decked-out Magic Kingdom, and we want to take you along! We’re checking out all the updates in Disney World’s flagship park in food, construction, and merchandise!

Before we jump in, we’ve got a few general updates! For one, it was SO cold yesterday that Splash Mountain only had a five-minute wait! It’s usually one of the longest in the park.

Did you know some of the custodial Cast Members at Disney World are pretty darn talented? We passed by this Cast Member (Matt!) in Liberty Square who made some snazzy water art of Santa Goofy.

So cute! We can’t get over how perfect this drawing is!

Magic Kingdom Food Updates

Westward Ho

On our last visit, we noticed that Westward Ho was open on a weekday. Today, however, it was back to being closed — potentially due to the lower crowds.

Magic Kingdom Construction Updates

Main Street Train Station

The BIGGEST construction update was at the Main Street Train Station. Though the Walt Disney World Railroad has been unavailable for a while now, we haven’t seen much work on this particular station.

The Train Station Behind Scrims

Until now, that is! The whole station was surrounded by construction scrim. Hmm…

Rivers of America

Rivers of America is still drained and we were able to peek over at some of the construction equipment parked in the riverbed. We sure hope to see water flowing in these channels again soon!

TRON Lightcycle Run

As always, we took a peek at the progress of TRON Lightcycle Run. That canopy is really starting to take shape! From the back, you can see the form of it is almost fully intact.

And there’s a super sweet update at the Silhouette Carts! Right now, they’re offering a fun plaid paper instead of just the usual black for Christmas!
