Orlando International Airport, located just miles from Disney World and Universal Orlando, was ranked the seventh busiest airport in the United States for 2025.

Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA), the trade association representing commercial service airports in the United States and Canada, released its 2025 North American airport traffic rankings. The report offers a comprehensive look at passenger traffic, cargo volume, and aircraft movements across the region’s busiest airports.

Among airports in cities like Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, Orlando International Airport ranked seventh in terms of passenger traffic. The airport saw a total of 57,675,573 passengers, which is a 0.8% increase from 2024. It was ranked as the ninth busiest airport that year.

It’s interesting to note that while MCO saw an increase, the report says overall passenger traffic declined slightly in 2025, falling 0.7 percent from 2024.

In 2025, a record-breaking 143.3 million visitors visited the Sunshine State over the course of the year.

“These numbers are reflective of Central Florida’s continued growth and global appeal,” said Lance Lyttle, CEO of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA), which manages MCO. “They also show why it is important to embrace a strategic vision that focuses on enhancing customer service while addressing critical infrastructure needs.”

The airport is undergoing a multi-year transformation, including renaming terminals, removing the iconic atrium carpet, increasing public parking spots to 8,000, and developing a vertistop.
