If you’ve flown to Disney World, you’ve probably become familiar with Orlando International Airport, which is probably the airport that most people visiting Disney World fly into due to its location and convenience. That means you’ve probably seen just how busy the airport can be.
In fact, we’re often warning you about how early you need to be at Orlando International Airport when you fly from Disney World back to your home airport, and we even encourage you to use TSA PreCheck or the free MCO Reserve. Well, Orlando International Airport has become even busier and has jumped in ranking among U.S. airports for the busiest.
The Airports Council International, an organization that tracks passenger numbers at airports, has released its 2025 airport traffic report, and it shows that Orlando International Airport (MCO) has gone from the 9th busiest airport in 2024 to the 7th busiest airport in 2025. As before, MCO is also still the busiest airport in Florida, but is also now the 25th busiest airport in the world.
A whopping total of 57,675,573 passengers flew into and out of MCO in 2025, with almost 8.5 million of those passengers being international passengers. The airport has seen a lot of international travel growth, especially after the opening of Terminal C, the airport’s new international terminal. However, new international routes were added in 2025, as well, including nonstop routes to Paris, Munich, and Madrid.
The airport is also continuing with expansion plans, with $550 million being recently approved for various projects at MCO. Those projects include constructing Terminal C’s aircraft taxiway expansions, improving terminal infrastructure, expanding food and shopping options around the airport, and building new and expanding existing back-of-house operations facilities. The airport is also working on adding 8,000 more parking spaces across Terminals A and C, as well as adding a new parking guidance system.
