Walt Disney World’s AI overview search feature is now testing with Cast Members. The tool is designed to display an AI summary of search results on DisneyWorld.com.
AI Overview Test
The AI overview briefly appeared for guests back in June, seemingly in error. It was labeled “Cast Preview” and was not fully operational, only displaying the message, “I’m still learning and don’t have information on that topic right now, but I can help with most food and beverage questions.”
Cast Member testing of the feature has now officially launched. Cast Members using DisneyWorld.com will be able to see the AI overview and offer feedback.
Depending on how Cast Member testing goes, the feature could launch for guests in the coming weeks or months, although Disney has not announced a timeline.

During the Q2 earnings report webcast, CEO Josh D’Amaro spoke candidly about the company employing AI for planning:
A Disney vacation means a lot to our fans, and we’re using AI to reduce the complexities around planning and booking a trip and trying to make that whole experience specifically tailored to what our guests want most.
Disney has already been encouraging its employees to use AI tools more.
Just three months after announcing a three-year partnership with Disney, OpenAI shut down its Sora video platform. Disney said at the time, “We appreciate the constructive collaboration between our teams and what we learned from it, and we will continue to engage with AI platforms to find new ways to meet fans where they are while responsibly embracing new technologies that respect IP and the rights of creators.”
Walt Disney Imagineering was hiring an AI executive in March 2026 to lead the building of an “AI-first platform that will fundamentally change how Imagineering creates.”
