Four Years Later, Ralph Joins Disney Dreamlight Valley After Last Appearing in Pre-Release Trailer

Ralph Wrecks His Way Into the Valley

More than four years after appearing in the game’s announcement trailer, Ralph has finally wrecked his way into Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Gameloft released the free Pixel Perfect update on Wednesday, July 29, adding Ralph from Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph alongside several new mechanics, limited-time events, and quality-of-life improvements.

Ralph’s arrival notably fulfills one of the game’s oldest character teases. He appeared briefly in the original Disney Dreamlight Valley announcement trailer (specifically around the 0:41 mark) released in April 2022, several months before the game entered early access.

All other characters visible in the scene with Ralph were either available at launch or added within the game’s first year, making Ralph’s absence unusual and something of a meme within the Dreamlight Valley community.

More than four years after appearing in the game’s announcement trailer, Ralph has finally wrecked his way into Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Although Vanellope von Schweetz was added in 2023, Ralph remained absent until the Pixel Perfect update.

Players can begin Ralph’s storyline by joining the Forgotten – a Dreamlight Valley original character – to investigate a glitching arcade cabinet that repeatedly appears around the Valley. The machine eventually lands inside Vanellope’s home, where players must gather pies, root beer, bricks, and other materials to repair it and construct a beacon capable of freeing Ralph.

To access the new storyline, players must have unlocked both the Forgotten and Peter Pan and completed “The Music’s on the Walls.”

Pop City Star Path and More

The Pixel Perfect update also adds the Pop City Star Path, a roughly two-month event where players can unlock new items to customize their Valley, including a variety of designs inspired by other Disney properties, including Turning Red, Big Hero Six, The Aristocats, and of course, Wreck-It Ralph.

Three more smaller-scale limited-time events are scheduled during this latest update:

  • Summer Sizzle returns from August 5 through August 18. Players can collect marshmallows, complete daily quests, share treats, and unlock rewards that include the game’s first buildable dock kit.
  • The new Parks Floating Festival runs from August 19 through September 8. It sends players to a Floating Island inspired by Disney Parks, where weekly puzzles award themed prizes.
  • Memory Mania returns from September 16 through September 29. Players will assist Joy from Inside Out with new memory-based quests and can earn a new companion.

Beyond the event-limited content, the latest update also introduces a “Best Friends” system with enhanced villager perks and new friendship options. Players can also enjoy new features such as biome-specific crafting recipes, Furniture Mode Quick Save, three The Storybook Vale Floating Islands, customizable Environmental Effects, and new rooms for Olaf’s Grand Exhibition. The update also fixes numerous quest, reward, item-spawning, furniture-placement, and menu issues.

The complete Pixel Perfect patch notes list fixes for quests involving Honeyglow Woods, Hercules, the Cheshire Cat, Merlin, and other characters. Gameloft also addressed inaccessible rewards, furniture-placement problems, and issues with dismissing reward screens.
