Seeing Mickey Mouse strolling down Main Street, U.S.A. is one of those small things during your Disney World trip that makes it so much more magical.
While you might want to go on ride after ride after ride, stopping for a parade with a Mickey ice cream bar can be worth it to see some of your favorite characters in Magic Kingdom. Before you head out to see the parade, you need to know about this upcoming change.
Magic Kingdom’s Festival of Fantasy Parade is moving from 3 PM to 2 PM starting on August 7th. This is because of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which starts the same day. While the change is due to the party, it will happen throughout the season, even on non-party nights.
What does this mean for you? Well, you’ll want to be lined up to see the parade a little earlier than you were originally planning on. For Festival of Fantasy, you don’t need to be lined up hours before and might be able to grab a great spot close to the start, but if parades are high on your list, you’ll at least want to get settled 30 minutes before.
You might see a small drop in wait times or food lines during the parade, too. Since people are out watching the fun, there might be fewer people heading towards rides, and they might change their lunch plans to fit in the parade.
If you love waving to characters but don’t want to have a full parade viewing experience, when you hear the music, head out to the streets to catch the floats. While we enjoy the parade, you probably don’t need to stake out a spot and add it high to your list of things to do, but it’s nice to catch a few characters when walking around.
