REVIEW: Bone Kebabs, Alien Sliders, and New Drinks at Jock Lindsey's Halloween Hangar Bar in Disney Springs

As invited media, Disney provided WDWNT with food and beverages, so the following coverage was hosted. As always, WDWNT will still provide our honest thoughts on all below.

From August 11 through November 9, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at Disney Springs becomes Jock Lindsey’s Halloween Hangar Bar. The bar is decorated and offering a limited-time menu of seasonal spooky treats. WDWNT was invited to a preview of the Halloween Hangar Bar.

The front of the bar is decorated with Halloween wreaths, orange garland, and a big “Halloween” sign. The decorations all have a retro home-made design, so it feels like Jock put them together back in the ’30s.

Inside, a variety of colorful garland criss-crosses the ceiling. They're adorned with jack-o'-lanterns and paper decorations depicting bats, cats, and creepy figures.

More paper figures are on the walls and shelves, including among the props behind the bar.

A plush cat and ghost sit next to each other. A blow-up jack-o’-lantern figure is in the rafters.

The garlands and wreaths continue outside.

Halloween Menu

Only the Alien Invader Sliders are returning from last year’s Halloween bar, which was the debut of the seasonal overlay.

Reviews

We tried everything except the Fright of the Espresso, which was not available during the media event, although we got to see the presentation (above).

There’s a reason these sliders are returning. They have an awesome presentation and taste great, too. The cheddar-chive biscuit is a nice touch. The “Nashville hot” fried chicken is not spicy at all but still good.

*NEW* Candelabra Eggs – $18.00

Deviled Egg with Crispy Fried Chicken, Sweet-and-Tart Pepper Sauce, and Aji Amarillo Custard

This was a table favorite. The presentation is great, plus it keeps the eggs off the table so you have more room for drinks.

There’s a nice aftertaste with a spicy kick at the end. The chicken bite is just the right amount of crispy. The sauces send it over the top to delicious. It’s sweet, then spicy.

*NEW* Dark Forest Dip – $12.00

Roasted Mixed Mushrooms, Baby Rainbow Carrots, Hummus, Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, and Pita

This is spicy hummus. It’s smooth and easy to share, if a bit basic. Not our favorite but not bad.

*NEW* Skull of the Dead Dip – $14.00

Barbacoa Beef, Cheddar Sauce, Spicy Fried Onion Straws, and Plantain Chips

This is a solid offering with a varying flavor profile. It's a smooth cheese dip with hints of barbacoa. It's not too spicy. The plantain chips give it a nice complementary crunch, along with the onions.

*NEW* Midnight Mayhem Popcorn Chicken – $15.00

Crispy Fried Chicken, Candied Bacon, Spiced Walnuts, Popcorn, and Hot Honey Sauce

The popcorn chicken is busy with a lot of flavors: walnuts, bacon, chicken, and popcorn. It’s a strange but interesting snack.

The bacon mostly overpowers everything else. Still, it’s fun.

*NEW* Bone Kebabs – $17.00

Duck Confit, Goat Cheese, Roasted Red Pepper Coulis and Kalamata Olives

This meat is soft and spicy. The bone you eat it off is plastic, which might be off-putting. The sauce is good and pairs well with the meat, giving it more dimension.

*NEW* Midnight Relic – $18.00

Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Ube Syrup, Cream of Coconut, Lemon Juice and a pinch of Edible Glitter

This might look watered down but it was the star of the show. Disney has a habit of putting ube in everything recently, but it was perfect for this drink. It was refreshing and not too powerful. Smooth, crisp, and very drinkable.

*NEW* Skull and Sour – $19.00

Jameson Irish Whiskey, Bols Peach Schnapps Liqueur, Lemon Juice, and Pumpkin Spice Syrup topped with Green Apple Juice-filled Pearls and Gummy Strands

The Skull & Sour will eventually be served in a skull glass but during our preview, it was in the slanted Hail Marty glass. The sour taste mixes well with the peach and lemon. It might be too tart for some and we didn’t taste much of the promised pumpkin spice, but it was otherwise outstanding.

Rating out of 7: 5

*NEW* Temple of Doom Margarita – $20.00

Patrón Silver Tequila, Bols Blackberry Brandy, Blackberry Purée, Habanero-Lime Syrup, and Lime Juice topped with a Black Sugar Rim, Blackberries, and Cherries

This is also to be served in a skull, but don’t bother getting it for the picture: it’s repulsive. It’s way too powerful, and stains your hands and the coaster black. It was impossible to finish.

Rating out of 7: 1

*NEW* Viper’s Nest – $7.00 (non-alcoholic)

DOLE Pineapple Juice, White Cranberry Juice, Green Apple Syrup, Blue Curacao Syrup, Sprite, and Butterfly Pea Extract topped with Green Apple Juice-filled Pearls and Gummy Candy

This non-alcoholic drink is like a parade of sweet. The flavors will be fighting in your mouth. Some kids might like it but it’s too much sugar. We could feel it coating our teeth.
