In an Instagram post by Walt Disney Imagineering, a notice titled “Greetings, Explorers!” was tacked to a tree with a message about an upcoming mystery that will be revealed at D23.
Imagineering is teasing a mysterious new discovery connected to the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A) that will be unveiled during D23 this weekend.
The notice reads:
For the unacquainted, I’m Bonnie Booker, an archivist for an intrepid organization called the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (a mouthful, I know!). We’re an institution dedicated to identifying, conserving, and curating the world’s mysteries and, in collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering, we’re excited to bring one of those mysteries to D23.
The Jungle Navigation Company just delivered the crate with our mystery to Imagineering headquarters. What’s inside? That’s the exciting part: nobody knows! We’ll open it at D23 and discover something new together. Isn’t that wonderful?
The Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A), a fictional, global society created by Walt Disney Imagineering, serves as an overarching storyline that connects numerous Disney theme park attractions and experiences such as Mystic Manor at Hong Kong Disneyland, Tower of Terror at Tokyo DisneySea, Jungle Cruise, Skipper Canteen, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and more.
The crate that is mentioned in the notice came from the Jungle Navigation Company, which is another fictional organization connected to S.E.A and Jungle Cruise. It ws founded by the legendary Dr. Albert Falls and it operates the river boats, ties into the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.), and inspires the ‘Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen‘ restaurant in Adventureland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa will be August 14, 15, and 16, in Anaheim, California.
All will be revealed at D23 when everyone discovers what’s new together.
What do you think is in the crate? Let us know on social media.
