Shopping in Disney World Could Be WAY Easier Soon!

If you’ve ever made a huge merchandise purchase at a store in a Disney theme park and then had to lug it all around the park throughout the rest of the day, you know how annoying that can be! But hey, when you gotta get that new merch, you gotta get that new merch!

Windtraders Holding Disney Merchandise — Trial

Prior to the park closures, you could have items held for you at the front of the park or sent to your Disney World hotel (so you wouldn’t have to carry them around). When the parks reopened, however, these types of package pickup and delivery were suspended. Disney’s Animal Kingdom tested a modified merchandise holding system earlier this year, but now package pickup could be returning!

According to WDWMagic, Walt Disney World is reportedly bringing back package delivery and pickup at the front of the parks for a limited time during the holiday season.

Soul Merchandise

WDWMagic reports that, from December 20th, 2020 through January 2nd, 2021, guests will be able to buy ALL their favorite merch at the stores within the Disney World theme parks and have them delivered to the front of the park (whichever park that guest is located at), where the guest will then be able to pick them up later.

The pickup locations are set to include:

  • Chamber of Commerce — Magic Kingdom
  • Gateway Gifts — EPCOT
  • Oscar’s Super Service — Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • An area near guest relations — Disney’s Animal Kingdom

2021 Merchandise

Delivery to Disney World Resort hotels will remain unavailable, but guests will continue to be able to ship the items directly to their homes if they want.

Passholder Holiday Merchandise

If this merchandise delivery system does come back (even just for this limited time in small way) it could be a GREAT help for those making big holiday purchases!

We chatted with a Disney Cast Member and were unable to confirm this. Instead, the Cast Member told us that the package pickup system where the items are delivered to the front of the park is unavailable and that they were unsure of when it would return. We’ll continue to look for more information and update this post as soon as we find it.
