Universal has confirmed the Epic Universe fireworks are temporarily unavailable after several social media users reported an unannounced lack of pyrotechnics at last night’s performance of Universal Celestial Goodnight.
No Fireworks at Universal Celestial Goodnight

The news spread on X when user @WDWSteve tweeted asking about the status of the Epic Universe fireworks after the Universal Celestial Goodnight nighttime spectacular performed without them on Monday, September 14:
The official Universal Orlando account replied to him, confirming that the Celestial Goodnight fireworks are “temporarily unavailable” due to “a technical issue”:
@WDWSteve added that no announcement was played over the PA, nor was there any notification in the Universal Orlando app that fireworks would not be happening at that night’s performance.
X user @steakandhash also tweeted at the official Universal account asking when the fireworks might resume, but Universal was unable to provide a date or timeline:

Universal announced the addition of fireworks to Epic Universe in June, after the company began hiring fireworks technicians and installing equipment along the park’s fireworks launch peninsula. Fireworks were tested at the park before it opened in May 2025, but it wasn’t until July 2026 that fireworks officially became part of the park’s nighttime show.

Before Universal Celestial Goodnight, the Epic Universe nightly show was the Cosmos Fountain Show, upon which much of the new spectacle was built.
