Universal Beijing Resort's Park Expansion Will Include 'Fast & Furious' Dark Ride and Nighttime Lagoon Show

Universal Beijing Resort has just announced two new Fast & Furious attractions coming soon to the park: a dark ride and a nighttime lagoon show.

Universal Beijing Resort will be adding a Fast & Furious ride, as well as a lagoon performance to the park

At a recent event, Universal Beijing Resort announced that a dark ride inspired by the Fast & Furious franchise will be coming soon as part of the theme park’s expansion. This will be an indoor-themed ride experience.

After translation, the announcement described the attraction: “The project will utilize an all-indoor riding format, seamlessly blending the series’ trademark high-speed chases and action sequences with a high-energy, thrilling atmosphere. Through a fusion of immersive scenes, rich storytelling, and the ride mechanics, visitors will personally participate in a brand-new journey where speed and passion intertwine.”

Meanwhile, a performance titled “Nighttime Spectacular at the Lagoon” is also coming soon. This new project will “seamlessly blend light and shadow, music, storytelling, and live interactions. It will bring different stories together amidst the reflections of the lake and surrounding scenery, sparking brand-new possibilities and opening up a fresh way for guests to explore the park at night.”

Universal Beijing Resort has not officially announced an opening date for these attractions.

Currently, only Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood have Fast & Furious attractions. Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Hollywood opens today, September 16. Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Florida will open sometime next year.

Universal Beijing Resort

The theme park soft launched in early September 2021, but officially opened to the public on September 20, 2021.

Currently, the theme park has seven lands: Hollywood, Minions Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Waterworld, Jurassic World Isla Nublar, Transformers Base, and Kung Fu Panda Land of the Awesome.

The resort also features two hotels: Universal Studios Grand Hotel and Nuo Hotel Resort. Expansion plans also include up to five hotels.
