Construction walls and scrim have returned to the outside of the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters attraction at Disneyland Park. The ride was refurbished earlier this year.

Gray scrim and light blue construction walls have been placed around a small section of the attraction’s building.

Cast Members told us that refurbishment work currently includes exterior painting and renovations.

We spotted this work beginning on September 14. It follows a two-month refurbishment the attraction closed for earlier this year from April through June with a refreshed exterior and interior improvements.

The attraction’s familiar blue starfield signage remained unchanged, but several surrounding architectural elements had been repainted in colors that feel more in line with Disneyland’s mid-century Tomorrowland identity. According to Cast Members, the main interior updates were behind the scenes. The computer system that operates the ride was replaced, and new phones were installed backstage for Cast Member use. Lighting throughout the ride and in the Zurg animatronic specifically was enhanced as well.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters remains open.
