Disney Believe Gigablock Float Out

The first "gigablock" of the Disney Believe floated out on Friday, September 18, an important milestone in construction of the Disney Cruise Line ship.

A gigablock is a section of the ship including walls, plumbing, and wiring. This ship will be constructed as three individual gigablocks, which will then be welded together. This gigablock is the midship section, including the Grand Hall.

The first "gigablock" of the Disney Believe floated out on Friday, September 18, an important milestone in construction of the Disney Cruise Line ship.

The next gigablock to be constructed will be the forward section, followed by the aft.

A “float out” is a test of the ship (or part of the ship) on water. The Disney Believe is under construction at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

The completed ship is scheduled for launch in late 2027, followed by four more Disney Cruise Line ships.
