A popular Disney World gelato store has expanded outside the bubble!
Vivoli Il Gelato has officially opened its fifth location, and we had the opportunity to check it out! And guess what? The new location has an exclusive flavor you can’t find anywhere else! Let’s check it out!
In the Disney World property, you can find this gelato store at two carts in Disney Springs, a storefront in Disney Springs, and a cart at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Vivoli Il Gelato’s fifth location is located just five minutes from Disney World property at the Flamingo Crossings Town Center in Winter Garden. They are open every day from 10 AM to 10 PM.
You may be thinking, ‘Why Flamingo Crossings?’ Well, they actually have a partnership with the owners of Simply Capri and Flatlands Bar & Grill, which are also located in the Flamingo Crossings Town Center. This isn’t the first place you could get their gelato in the area because Simply Capri actually sells their gelato — Vivoli Il Gelato added a storefront for guests to have more flavors to choose from!
Another reason for their expansion was due to space. They actually don’t have a lot of space between Disney Springs and the Riviera Resort, so this new storefront opens up the space a lot more! It also allows them to expand and reach more customers, especially since they are located across from where the Disney College Program participants live.
Remember how I mentioned an exclusive flavor? Well, there’s actually TWO right now! Introducing the Tiramisu gelato and the tiramisu affogato. The gelato is an exclusive flavor to Flamingo Crossings, and the affogato is only here for a limited time, but more flavors are to come!
The tiramisu gelato used to be a flavor offered at Disney Springs, but it hasn’t been available for years. It comes with ladyfingers, which give the gelato a different texture with each bite. It has that rich espresso flavor and is smooth and creamy throughout. The espresso is a bit bitter, but the ladyfingers add a touch of sweetness that brings it all together.
The affogato version is extremely similar but is a lot richer with the espresso in it. It also comes with ladyfingers on it, which we actually recommend dipping instead of getting in every bite like the gelato! And if you don’t want them to be on the crunchier side, you can always leave them in the affogato to soak up all of that flavor to the point they become soft. This was another great treat in our books, and if you want to try it, head over sooner rather than later because it’s only here for a limited time!
The Flamingo Crossings location will also be the first Vivoli Il Gelato location to sell pints! The flavors that are available in pints will be flavors found at Disney Springs, such as coconut, peanut butter, and more. These pints are located in a freezer and are based on a grab-and-go system, so availability may vary.
Another great aspect of this location is that it is FULLY peanut-free! Peanut butter gelato can still be purchased as a pint, but it is not available in scoops. The flavor is actually made at Disney Springs and brought to this location — they don’t make any gelato containing peanuts here!
It’s very authentic when it comes to being an Italian shop because about 90% of the store’s decor and build is shipped from Italy. How cool!
We also got a sneak peek into what’s to come this holiday season, including new flavors, drinks, and more! For Christmas, Vivoli Il Gelato will have a hot chocolate with a marshmallow topping that they’ll TORCH! There will also be a version of this with a scoop of gelato on it. Another special offering will be the Drunken Elf — a chocolate martini with candy canes. This will only be available at the Disney Springs location because the Flamingo Crossings location does not have a liquor license. Finally, a gingerbread tiramisu will be available during the holidays.
Vivoli Il Gelato is viewing this space as their “test kitchen,” as well. If there is a new flavor dropping, it’ll most likely be available at Flamingo Crossings first since they’re testing it out there! Another cool thing about this location is that it’s the only place in Orlando where you can find a Crème de Café, or frozen cappuccino! It’s EXTREMELY creamy and reminded us of a cappuccino in a soft gelato form. It’s frozen, but not to the point where you’d get a brain freeze. We were big fans of this one!
Edible waffle cone cup? SAY LESS! This is the first time a waffle cone coffee cup has been made — you probably won’t find it anywhere else other than Vivoli Il Gelato! The cup is pretty thick, so you don’t have to worry about it breaking with gelato in it. Why have your gelato in a paper cup when you can have it in a waffle cup and eat it afterwards — it’s the best of both worlds! However, since it’s so thick, just be prepared for your teeth and use those molars.
We’re so happy that Vivoli Il Gelato opened another location because not only is there more space, but they also feature exclusive flavors and offerings you can’t find anywhere else! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news, updates, tips, and tricks!
