Disney Villains have a flair for the fabulous, and that extends even to staying dry: recent videos from Tokyo Disneyland show characters wearing elaborate, custom-made ponchos during a rainy-day performance of the seasonal Villains’ Halloween Into the Frenzy Parade.

Disney Villains Debut Custom Ponchos in Tokyo

Instagram user tkyn_shots shared a series of Reels from a recent performance of the Halloween parade where wet weather couldn’t dampen the Villains’ spirits — or their costumes.

Maleficent

The Mistress of Evil wears a custom-constructed clear vinyl poncho, which even incorporates a sculpted collar cover. Her headpiece even gets protection with a special dimensional covering, complete with matching stitching that aligns with the horns’ ridges, that also includes a hard plastic face shield.

The poncho is almost a perfect match to the original costume with regard to how it drapes and swirls with the Cast Member’s movements.

Evil Queen

Continuing the trend of ponchos with batwing collars and shaped head coverings, the Evil Queen from Snow White keeps her sequined gown and pointed crown safe from the elements with her own special clear poncho.

Like Maleficent, her poncho even has a large stand-up collar to mimic her costume. The headpiece completely covers her crown with a clear cylinder and also has an attached face shield.

Dr. Facilier

Dr. Facilier’s signature top hat is even more exaggerated with its matching cover, which fits over and around the brim. He wears a clear coat-style poncho over his costume.

Cruella de Vil

Cruella de Vil protects her fabulous furs with a coat poncho as well, with a large curved hood that covers her two-tone hair but leaves her face fully visible.

The Villains’ Halloween Into the Frenzy Parade

Tokyo Disneyland’s daytime Halloween parade, The Villains’ Halloween Into the Frenzy Parade, debuted in September 2024 and features classic Disney characters in Halloween costumes mingling with Disney Villains. The 45-minute parade is performed once daily during the Halloween season.
