Aerial photographer bioreconstruct checked up on Walt Disney World’s North Marina, where a new Magic Kingdom ferryboat is under construction. He also spotted the Stitch statue from World of Disney, which was removed almost two months ago.

Ferryboat Construction

Construction of the 120-foot ferryboat has moved into a service building. Bioreconstruct previously captured photos of it outside the building. The yellow arrow in these photos points at one of the ferry’s wheelhouses.

Like other Walt Disney World ferries, it will have two wheelhouses, one at either end, so it doesn’t have to turn around every time it crosses the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Nearby, Stitch and Genie statues are visible.

The Stitch statue was removed from World of Disney in Disney Springs in late July for refurbishment. The Genie statue also originates from World of Disney, but hasn’t been seen at the store for years.

Also docked at the North Marina—which is located near Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Contemporary Resort—is the Liberty Belle Riverboat. It’s been over a year since the boat took its final journey on the Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom. Though no longer in service, it appears to be in pretty good shape.

In this wide angle, the riverboat is near the center, the ferryboat is in a building on the right, and Stitch and Genie are on the far right.

The ferryboat will be the fourth in the fleet and named after Meg Gilbert Crofton, the fourth president of Walt Disney World. Transportation Cast Members recently got to sign a piece of the ferryboat before installation.

The existing boats are named the Admiral Joe Fowler, the General Joe Potter, and the Richard F. Irvine.

Disney is also expanding the ferryboat dock at Magic Kingdom ahead of the fourth boat’s launch.
