More themed walls are visible in Tropical Americas as crews continue work on the façades of Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto and Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. These photos are by aerial photographer bioreconstruct on X.
Tropical Americas Construction
In the overview above, the large building in the lower right is the former DINOSAUR show building, soon-to-be Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent; the show building in the upper right is for the brand-new Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto ride; and the cluster of buildings near the center is the former Restaurantosaurus.
The land will include the fictional village of Pueblo Esperanza. In the center of the village will be a fountain, between Restaurantosaurus and El Carrusel de los Animalitos.
A series of faux ruined walls are also under construction near the fountain. Some scaffolding has come down from these walls in recent weeks. We don’t yet know what the function of these structures will be.
Since bioreconstruct’s last aerial update, concrete has been poured to create the exterior wall of the fountain.
The carousel’s roofing is almost complete. Paneling was recently added to the topmost section. On the left in the above image, there are more supports in place for a roof along the entrance to Tropical Americas.
Another crumbling wall is in the works separating the carousel from the rest of the park. A stretch of the wall is shades of brown.
That paint scheme is similar to wall pieces and columns at the land’s other entrance. Scaffolding recently came down from most of these elements, too.
The former Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures gift shop is being rethemed. The excavated land nearby is for a new playground. Disney hasn’t shared details of the play area.
Over the past several weeks, crews have continued to add steel to the Casita façade for the Encanto attraction. On the side of the show building, another steel façade is under construction, likely for the ride’s exit.
Over at Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, the third piece of the Maya pyramid is now in place in the center of the facade. The first two pieces were installed in early September. The slope in front of the pyramid will be themed to rockwork.
Behind the temple, workers are removing dirt from a rooftop garden that hid the former DINOSAUR show building. The garden will still be used for the new ride but crews are refreshing it.
Disney’s Facility Asset Management team recently filed a permit for the Indiana Jones building contracting Harper Limbach, LLC for “General Construction.” Though details aren’t provided in the permit, Harper Limbach specializes in “mission-critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure.”
