If you’ve been following Disney World news closely over the past few months, then you know there have been a lot of changes in one Animal Kingdom line.
Expedition Everest
Recently, Disney has changed the way they load guests on Expedition Everest, making the Single Rider line move more slowly. But now the Single Rider line has been officially removed.
Single Rider lines are one of our best tips for getting on certain Disney rides a little quicker; if you don’t mind being split from your party, you can save a lot of time in line. And one of our favorite, and most efficient, Single Rider lines was Expedition Everest. You could save a lot of time and get on the ride much quicker than the Standby line.

However, recently Disney updated the way they loaded guests onto the attraction. Instead of guests in the Standby making their way all the way to the front of the line and then being given a row, with single riders filling in the gaps, Disney started to pre-sort guests in the final room of the queue. In this room, guests are sorted into odd and even groups, meaning that there were fewer gaps for the single riders to fill in.
Expedition Everest
While this made the Standby line move more quickly, it made Single Rider much less efficient. Well, as of September 21st, Single Rider is no longer an option for this attraction. We visited the attraction to check it out, and sure enough, the Single Rider sign has been removed from the queue.

While this decision is not surprising given how much they have changed the loading process over the past few months, we are sad to see this Single Rider option go. However, we hope this will mean the Standby line will continue to move more quickly. Disney has also made it clear that this change only applies to Everest and that the other Single Rider lines around the parks will still be used!
