We’re getting hyped for the NEW land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Replacing the former DinoLand, U.S.A. is Tropical Americas, set to open in 2027. This space will have attractions themed to Encanto and Indiana Jones as well as new shopping and dining. We’ve been following the construction closely for a while now, but today we have new updates to share with you!
We’re starting out this update with some photos from our in-park reporters, showcasing what you can see from outside the construction walls. Crews are busy working on the main entrance to the land and the archway is coming along FAST. It’s so much bigger now!

We’ve also noticed some more rock work has been completed at the back entrance to the land. They built this structure from the ground up, and it seriously looks like old, weathered rock. The artistry is incredible!

From further back, you can see the support beams and structures for the rest of the construction site. There’s a lot of work still to be done, but things are coming along quickly.

We’ve also got some photos to share from Twitter/X user @bioreconstruct. They share aerial photos from the theme parks, and this overhead view of the land gives us a LOT more info about how far along construction is. Here’s a glance at the land as a whole.

First of all, the exterior of Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent is getting a massive update. The exterior of the building now has a temple-like structure on the front and it looks like detailing has begun to make it look weathered. Those colors are starting to really match the concept art! You can still see the familiar remnants of the old DINOSAUR building.

We also got a peek at the construction happening over at the quick service restaurant. They’ve kept the same basic building shape from Restaurantosaurus, but the entire landscape out front has been removed. There’s a circular structure out in front that looks like it could become a fountain or planter.

Of course, the shops are getting an overhaul as well. Where Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures and the restrooms used to be, the buildings are still standing. The old DinoRama area has been completely removed, and it looks like the pathway next to the gift shop is getting opened up a bit.

It looks like Disney is really leaning into the theming details with this land, and we can’t wait to see what it looks like when everything is complete. We’ll keep you updated with any more construction changes or announcements.
