Crews have repainted two of the fake tree stumps in Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The lake was drained last month for a refurbishment of its props and Dockside Diner.

Echo Lake Trees Painted

The lake is decorated with fake fallen trees and stumps that stick out of the water when full. Two of the three stumps have been freshly painted dark brown. Compare the recently painted stump on the left in the photo above with the stump yet to be painted on the right.

The third stump and fallen trees will probably be painted in the coming days. The trees help mask some of the lake’s underwater plumbing.

In this aerial photo by bioreconstruct from the Christmas season, the trees and stumps can be seen on the far right side of the lake. Before repainting, they were so faded and pale, they almost blended in with the water.

Disney has not announced a timeline for the Echo Lake refurbishment. The lake is surrounded by Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Hollywood & Vine, 50’s Prime Time Cafe, and For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-along Celebration.
