When I’m deciding where to eat at Disney Springs, I’m usually thinking about the menu first. Italian? Burgers? Quick-service? Somewhere with a great cocktail? What I don’t normally stop to consider is whether the restaurant I’m walking into is supposed to be part of the same story as the building next door.
But that’s exactly what’s happening with four neighboring spots in The Landing.
Pizza Ponte, Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante, Enzo’s Hideaway, and The Edison are all connected through the fictional history Disney created for Disney Springs. You could easily eat at any one of them without knowing the connection exists, but once you know the backstory, some of the design choices suddenly make a lot more sense.
And if you’re trying to decide where to eat during your next Disney Springs visit, the four restaurants also offer VERY different experiences.
Pizza Ponte: The Easy, Casual Stop
The story starts with Pizza Ponte, imagined as the small Italian bakery where Maria and Enzo built their business around their love of food and travel.
From a practical vacation-planning standpoint, this is the easiest of the four to work into your day. Pizza Ponte is a quick-service location serving Sicilian-style pizza, sandwiches, pastries, and other grab-and-go options. If you’re shopping at Disney Springs and don’t want to commit to a lengthy table-service meal, this is the member of the family I’d keep in mind.
It’s also fun knowing that this little bakery is essentially where the larger Maria and Enzo story begins.
Maria & Enzo’s: When You Want the Full Restaurant Experience
Things get considerably grander next door at Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante.
The restaurant is designed as a former 1930s air terminal that Maria and Enzo restored and transformed into a restaurant. Look around inside and you’ll find remnants of that imaginary past, including soaring ceilings and former boarding areas incorporated into the dining room. Those huge windows overlooking the water are another reason this one feels completely different from Pizza Ponte despite the two being connected.
The menu focuses on Southern Italian food, including homemade pastas, making this the option I’d consider when you want to sit down, slow down, and make dinner a larger part of your Disney Springs evening.
Enzo’s Hideaway: The One You Might Walk Right Past
Then things get weird – in a good way.
Head underground and you’ll find Enzo’s Hideaway, which is built around the idea that these tunnels once serviced the nearby power plant before becoming a Prohibition-era hideout for rum runners.
If you’ve never been down here, the atmosphere is a HUGE part of the appeal. The walls are covered with graffiti, the entrance feels tucked away from the rest of Disney Springs, and the whole place has a much darker, more intimate feel than Maria & Enzo’s upstairs. The menu leans into Roman-inspired dishes alongside cocktails that fit nicely with the speakeasy-style setting.
This might be the most fun choice of the four for someone who has visited Disney Springs plenty of times and wants to try someplace that feels a little more hidden.
The Edison: Where the Story Ends…or Begins?
Follow those imaginary tunnels back to their source and you arrive at The Edison.
In the Disney Springs backstory, The Edison occupies the former power plant that once provided electricity to the waterfront town. That’s why the building is packed with industrial machinery, pipes, metalwork, and other details that make it look like somebody converted an old electrical plant rather than constructing a themed restaurant from scratch.
This is also where I’d head if the evening atmosphere matters as much as dinner. Cocktails and live entertainment are a bigger part of The Edison’s identity, particularly after dark, giving it a different personality from the Italian restaurants next door.
And suddenly those tunnels beneath the area don’t seem quite so random, do they?
So, Which One Fits Your Disney Springs Night?
That’s what I like about looking at these four restaurants together. The backstory connects them, but they aren’t interchangeable.
If you need something casual and quick, Pizza Ponte makes sense. Maria & Enzo’s gives you the more traditional sit-down Italian dinner with a beautiful waterfront setting. Enzo’s Hideaway is the one I’d look at when atmosphere and cocktails are high on your list, while The Edison makes a lot of sense for an evening when you’re looking for dinner followed by entertainment.
You certainly don’t need to know any of this backstory to enjoy a meal at Disney Springs. But I LOVE little details like these because they’re remnants of the kind of Disney storytelling that can be sitting right in front of us without demanding our attention.
The next time you’re walking through The Landing, take another look at these four buildings. That bakery, abandoned air terminal, underground hideaway, and old power plant aren’t four random restaurant themes.
They’re all chapters of the same Disney Springs story.
