One side of Alien Swirling Saucers is closed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with rolling planters replacing one vehicle.

Alien Swirling Saucers Side Closure

When we stopped by the spinning ride—located in Toy Story Land—on Tuesday, September 22, we noticed that only one side of the ride was operating. Meanwhile, a few rolling planters are now placed where one ride vehicle should be on the non-operating side.

Nothing has been announced regarding this closure. Watch our POV of the ride:

Despite the sudden closure, Alien Swirling Saucers is also undergoing a music change. Last week, a larger-than-life Lilypad, the tablet seen in Toy Story 5, was installed near the ride.

Although she isn’t active yet, Lilypad will become the DJ for Alien Swirling Saucers, playing an updated soundtrack on the ride, including remixed Toy Story classics and brand-new original songs. She will also play music and offer activities for passersby.

After two months with a revamped loading procedure, the ride is no longer assigning guests to specific numbered ride vehicles.
