Two more S.E.A. artifact clue have been shared by Walt Disney Imagineering, suggesting a time-traveling device was used by the thief.

Who Stole S.E.A.’s Artifact?

Walt Disney Imagineering has been leading fans on a digital scavenger hunt to uncover a stolen Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.) artifact teased at D23. A recap of the clues so far, including correspondence and newspaper clippings, seemed to point to one of Disneyland’s iconic mountains: Big Thunder Mountain. The previous clue referenced a jewel that was discovered “in the caverns” that has a “colorful glow” in a town called “the biggest little boom.”

This jewel is also referenced in a previous clue by Jason Chandler, a character incorporated into Big Thunder Mountain lore, who will once again be traveling to the American Frontier where Rainbow Ridge is hosting a celebration in honor of their recent discovery: the Ridge Jewel. This is most likely the stolen artifact, which was swiped by a thief who we now know was rejected from the S.E.A.

Walt Disney Imagineering Shares Six and Seventh Clues

Today, Imagineering posted the six and seventh clues to their Instagram account. Both are aged, typewritten poems discovered among the archives. The sixth clue reads:

My theory for travel hasn’t failed,

I can go anywhere, anytime, and tell my tale.

The greatest adventurer of all is my aim,

For this next letter – you’ll need two of the same:

Mountain of Mountains whose peak is far.

Where the ice is cold and the flowers are stars.

Though fabled beasts, you best beware!

Behind the alphorn are a bull, a lion, and a bear.

Count red and white in alphabetical succession,

To find two letters, while I mend a transgression.

The seventh poem reads:

I proved it works, an amazing invention.

But has it grabbed S.E.A.’s attention?

They never believed that my talent was true.

To track me down, find a letter in this secluded clue:

Here birds sing and torches glow,

Boats float by, to and fro.

Find these lined up, one by one,

Admire hers, from 1831.

Solve this riddle if you’re smart.

Your answer is at her river’s Start.

The clues also came with a blueprint of the Timeskipper device and the following note:

Incredible news, explorers: all this time we’ve been asking how, but we should’ve been asking when! A time travelling device called the Timeskipper…I wonder where our thief is now.

Imagineering also included the advice that these riddles can be solved by digging through photos of Disneyland.

After the S.E.A.’s artifact went missing at D23, they need our help to figure out the
thief’s name.

Our friend, S.E.A. Archivist Bonnie Booker, says the thief is leaving riddles behind with
clues to their name, with a letter as the answer to each riddle. However, these letters
that make up the name are scrambled in the wrong order.

These riddles can all be solved online by looking up images of Disneyland. While Disneyland serves as the inspiration for this adventure and adventurers can come to the
park, all riddles can be solved completely at home. It’ll be challenging, but our friend, S.E.A. Archivist Bonnie Booker, says this is the perfect adventure for explorers to prove
themselves as S.E.A. field researchers!

The Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.)

For the uninitiated, the Society of Explorers and Adventurers is devoted to, well, adventure and exploration! S.E.A.’s mission is to reveal truths, right wrongs, and live to tell the tale. With humble beginnings dating as far back as the 1500s, S.E.A. was founded by a distinguished body of mariners, scientists, inventors, and artists. The Society traces its origins back to the mythic Fortress Exploration, its earliest known headquarters. Here, early explorers exchanged information about daring adventures and new inventions, and shared their collective knowledge for innovation for all.

Since then, S.E.A. has remained a hub of ingenuity and discovery, passionately dedicated to exploring what is not yet understood. To accomplish this, members meticulously document their long history—from finding lost artifacts to retracing the steps of their adventurer alumni—and embark on modern expeditions to under-researched locations. Or, to put it simply: they identify, conserve, and curate the world’s unknowns around us. After all, a mystery is only the catalyst to adventure!
