The ferryboat dock expansion at Magic Kingdom is coming along quickly, with fresh boards installed across the framework.

Last month, timber pilings were cut and installed along the outer edge of the expansion. The pilings were further cut down and boards were installed, creating a surface.

For comparison, above is a photo from last month alongside a photo from Monday. Where there was previously a framework is now an actual dock.

Mooring cleats are along the edge of the dock.

Disney filed a permit for the dock project in February, and the state’s water management district approved it in March. The expansion follows the 2021 installation of second-level ferryboat ramps, which allow guests to unload from both decks more quickly.

Disney is currently constructing a fourth ferryboat to join the Magic Kingdom fleet. Named in honor of former Walt Disney World President Meg Crofton, it is under construction backstage.
