The fake apartment call box at the entrance of the Grand Lofts building along Grand Avenue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been removed.

Address Look-Up Box 

When we stopped by the area on Tuesday, September 22, we noticed that the apartment call box was covered by black fabric, meaning it could no longer be used by guests. 

The photo below shows what the call box looked like before its removal:

Previously, people could interact with the box, which provided different names for people living in the building and a code to use to unlock the door. One of those residents was “Assmann, K.,” which is a reference to a Seinfeld episode about a license plate.

License Plate Reference

The reference stems from the episode titled “The Fusilli Jerry” in season six, when Kramer’s DMV license plate got mixed up with a proctologist’s license plate. Later in the episode, Kramer proudly tells Jerry, “I’m Cosmo Kramer, the Assman!”

However, everyone’s names, including “Assmann,” were removed in July and were replaced with statements including “No directory entries created” and “Scroll up, down to see directory.”
