Disneyland visitors can once again travel through the Grand Canyon Diorama and Primeval World, two of the Disneyland Railroad’s most historic scenes.
After roughly two months of refurbishment, Primeval World and the Grand Canyon Diorama have reopened at Disneyland. The return brings back the railroad’s famous dinosaurs and Western landscape while introducing refreshed lighting and effects.
For guests who have missed the classic scenes, the reopening restores an important part of the Disneyland Railroad journey.
Primeval World Is Back
The biggest draw for many guests is the return of Primeval World.
As the Disneyland Railroad travels through the prehistoric landscape, passengers can once again see the attraction’s collection of dinosaurs, including its famous Tyrannosaurus rex and Stegosaurus encounter.
Meanwhile, updated lighting gives the scene a refreshed look without changing its classic identity. As a result, longtime Disneyland guests can still enjoy the familiar dinosaurs while potentially noticing details they may not have seen before.
Grand Canyon Diorama Returns
The Grand Canyon Diorama has also reopened following its refurbishment.
First introduced at Disneyland in 1958, the diorama recreates the American Southwest with colorful scenery and wildlife. The recent work refreshed the lighting and other effects while preserving the look of the longtime attraction.

From the Grand Canyon to the Dinosaurs
