Disney removed the single rider sign outside Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain at Animal Kingdom. The single rider line permanently closed on September 21.

Expedition Everest Single Rider Sign Gone

When we stopped by the attraction on Thursday, September 24, the single rider sign was taken down. The only thing that is left on the wall is the “souvenirs, film, postcards, and sweets” sign. This sign is located on an exterior corner of the Serka Zong Bazaar gift shop.

The blue and white single rider entrance sign, along with an arrow, was placed directly underneath the sign. Below is what the single rider sign used to look like:

Disney said that due to a successful test of a new loading process earlier this year, which resulted in lower average wait times, the single rider line will no longer be available. The attraction’s queue was also updated around that time with screens displaying a brand-new safety video.

The test showed that as the efficiency of the standby line increased, the single rider line no longer provided the experience guests have come to expect from single rider lines.

We’ve been reporting that the Expedition Everest single rider sign has been intermittently appearing. The sign was first removed in late July, and then returned a few days later, though with a note that it was “not available.” At the time, Cast Members told us that the dedicated single rider queue would be officially closing in the near future.
