Shanghai Disney Resort has begun testing its new Spider-Man roller coaster, with ride vehicles now present on the track.
Spider-Man Coaster Testing Begins
X user @MasaneMiyaPA shared a photo of envelope testing underway on the roller coaster. The last car of the attraction train has large circular elements attached. These temporary fixtures are included for clearance testing; a critical stage in coaster construction to ensure there will be sufficient clearance for guests’ heads and fully extended arms as they pass other structural elements of the coaster.
The coaster is part of a brand-new Spider-Man land first announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024. Coaster track was completed earlier this summer. During D23 2026, Disney said the first ride vehicles were due for imminent testing on-site at the developing coaster.
The same presentation also revealed concept art for a giant Spider-Bot as part of the attraction.
Although the land is focused on Spider-Man, other Marvel characters will appear.
