Trader Sam’s Closes Exterior Staircase as Patio Seating Expands at Disneyland Hotel

Work continues around Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar and Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill at the Disneyland Hotel. The latest changes include the closure of an exterior staircase and the reopening of additional seating near the outdoor fireplace.

Trader Sam’s Staircase Now Closed

Work continues around Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar and Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill at the Disneyland Hotel, with a new change to guest access and more seating now in use near the outdoor fireplace.

The exterior staircase leading toward Trader Sam’s is now closed. White scrim covers the stairs and much of the façade, while brown construction walls and temporary barriers surround the entrance.

The hanging “Trader Sam’s” signage remains visible above the wrapping, along with the venue’s regular signage.

Wooden signposts in front of the work direct guests toward Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar and Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill, including an accessible route.

Both locations remain open while the outdoor renovation continues.

Additional tables and chairs are now available around the patio’s stone fireplace. Large beige umbrellas shade the expanded seating area, which includes wooden tables, wicker-style chairs, and additional seating arranged across the stone paving.

Strings of tiki-style lanterns hang overhead, and the fireplace area is once again being used as an outdoor dining space. A rope stanchion marks one edge of the seating area.

The latest changes follow earlier work that surrounded the patio with scaffolding and construction walls. Polynesian-inspired panels and tiki mask signs were recently added to the barriers. Trader Sam’s and the patio’s daily live music remain available during the renovation.

The outdoor project began earlier this month, following the completion of an interior refurbishment at Trader Sam’s in May.
