The preview center for Walt Disney World’s new lands has been updated, including never-before-seen concept art for Monstropolis.
Monstropolis Preview
The preview center opened last year inside Walt Disney Presents at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with concept art for Monstropolis, Tropical Americas, and Piston Peak National Park gathered around the Tropical Americas model. Piston Peak has been replaced by Carousel of Progress artwork, models, and costumes while the Monstropolis section has new art and maquettes.
Following D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event last month, Disney has switched out some of the Monstropolis concept art with newer pieces. We saw most of this art at D23, but revealed for the first time is concept art of the Glob Theater lobby.
The artwork shows a lobby with blue walls and red curtains. Chandeliers feature eye motifs. At the back of the room is a Monster Concessions stand, which likely won’t be an operational snack stand but feature fake monstrous snacks for guests to look at while they wait. On the right are the theater doors with screens mounted above them for a pre-show.
Another new piece of art showcases the Glob Theater entrance including the light-up marquee. Though this piece is new, we have seen similar looks at the Glob Theater before.
The Glob Theater is the reimagined MuppetVision 3D. It will host Welcome to Monstropolis! With Sulley & Mike. Disney is preparing to add signage to the Glob.

The rest of the art from D23 shows the land’s entrance, the interior of Harryhausen’s, and the Welcome to Monstropolis show.
In addition to artwork, there are four maquettes of three monstrous animals guests will see in the land: monster pigeon, splitting hare, and monster squirrel. These replace maquettes of Mike and Sulley that were actually from Monsters University.
Plus, a laugh/scream canister joins the display.

The land will open in phases beginning in 2027.
