The season is upon us for Magic Kingdom’s Halloween party of the year! Every year, this event takes Orlando by storm, and right now TikTok is blowing up with OOTD (Outfit of the Day) posts and other fit checks for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP).
MNSSHP is a yearly Halloween celebration at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, featuring special costumes for the roaming characters, candy, shows, and an all-around guaranteed fun night for all ages. With that being said, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is also known for being the only time in the year that guests can dress up in costumes at Disney World! I cannot imagine a prettier and more magical backdrop for a flawless photo dump with a killer Halloween costume.
If you’re looking for some outfit inspiration, then you’ve landed on the right article. I’ve compiled some iconic character looks that can be recreated with comfortable, simple closet staples and easily thriftable finds so that you can have a fiscally responsible, TikTok-worthy outfit. The success of the Bop to the Top tour brought some amazing Disney Channel Disney Bounds and costumes to the top of everyone’s feed. With MNSSHP, I foresee the revival of some of these iconic Disney Channel Duos. Throw a miniskirt over your leggings, a tank top over your long-sleeve, pair it with some calf boots, a statement necklace, and a cropped jacket. Now you’re ready to be a star on the Disney Channel! This could work for a few looks; there are no limits!

This iconic duo might be a hard to spot costume, but I feel like those that get it…get it! I am suggesting it because I feel like these looks can be put together with some staple closet pieces. (Hence the aforementioned double-tripling up on tank tops) Put your favorite final jam in the background, and you’ve got the perfect couples costume!
Next, but no less iconic, are Chad and Troy from High School Musical.
This boy’s duo is nothing short of show-stopping. Though, realistically, you could be any member of the Wildcat chapter. A fun craft night with some iron-on letters and numbers; there is no shortage of activewear at the thrift store if you don’t own an all red and white set.
Third and finally, in our Disney Channel Duos category are Rocky and Cece.
Similar to the Michi and Shane duo, this would be the perfect girls’ duo. The key is layering with bright colors and statement jewelry. Not to mention your best dance moves- don’t be afraid to Shake it Up.
If Disney Channel isn’t your style and you’re looking for something classic there is nothing more classic than the Disney Princesses.
While it might be a tad cumbersome to wear a full gown to Disney World, I can’t think of a better opportunity. However, if that sounds uncomfortable to you, I recommend referencing these iconic looks from Ralph Breaks the Internet.
This outfit accommodates many, and everyone in the group can pick their favorite princess, which makes this the perfect outfit plan for a large girls’ night out group.
This outfit is a very easy one to ‘do-your-own-thing’ with. You can really make each princess your own! So long as you keep to specific colors, there are infinite ways to do your take on pajama-party Cinderella.
Modern Disney is full of some amazing characters that we have all become big fans of very fast, but few are more popular than Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps.
While the clothes needed to complete these looks might not be the simplest to find, during Halloween season, there are plenty of places to get your hands on a cheap pair of animal ears for either of the icons in this pair. After that (since you’re already at the Halloween store) you can pick up a few casual-tactical items for Judy. Or you can dig in the back of the closet for a Hawaiian shirt. I know you have one!
When you’re planning your costume, though, not all outfits need a group or a pair- Disney is the best place for character crossovers! These next outfits are great solo but can also easily be paired up with another late addition to the party. Maybe you’ll even find your match while at Disney! So here are some underrated icons that would be great for a solo fit.
First is Milo from Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
This film is super underrated but not unpopular! Trust me when I tell you that Milo has a lot of dedicated fans. Not only that, but I feel like Milo’s look can be achieved with some very simple and attainable pieces that if you don’t already have- you could easily find. It also seems pretty comfortable for a long night of fun at the park!
Last, but certainly not least, this niche outfit might just be for me. However, Emma Swan from Once Upon a Time is nothing short of iconic! Especially with her red leather jacket.
If you happen to possess one, or come across one at the thrift store, this outfit is for you. At MNSSHP, Emma Swan would be right at home surrounded by all those storybook characters in Fantasyland.
