Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, has confirmed that one character will anchor the story of Marvel’s upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday.

One Character Will Anchor ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Story

In a recent article with Vanity Fair, Feige indicated that Florence Pugh’s character, Yelena Belova, would be the center point of the upcoming Marvel film, Avengers: Doomsday.

Pugh, further supported this claim by implying in the article that the film would be “anchored” by her character. This could also be one of the biggest roles her character plays in the MCU, and set up her character for a return in Avengers: Secret Wars, which is slated for December 2027.

Principal photography for Avengers: Secret Wars is set to take place this fall, as several cast members have been confirmed, including Robert Downey Jr., who will be back in the 2027 follow-up as Doctor Doom, and Letitia Wright as Shuri (Black Panther)

In addition to Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, Pugh has also been featured in Hawkeye, Thunderbolts*, Brand New Day, and has done voiceover roles in animated Disney+ projects.

While the exact role of her character has remained a mystery in Avengers: Doomsday and the plot remains under wraps, based on the teasers and confirmations we have received, Pugh’s character will have a large roll in the upcoming film and in MCU future films.
