Bob Chapek Addresses “Beef” with Iger
Chapek talked with Valuetainment for Gen Z where he explained more about the “beef” he has with Iger. In the clip, Chapek claims he doesn’t have beef with Iger, but rather he has beef with what he did to try and regain control of the CEO role.
Chapek also claims his book is not about Iger and is not intended to set the record straight; he said he wants his story told—about his life and his 30 years at Disney.
In the first clip, Chapek said he has remained silent for four years on his career, and his story has been “corrupted” by others with an agenda. Now, he has a chance to tell his own story.
He also claims he wasn’t treated unfairly by Disney, but there were others in the company who acted “selfishly” on their own behalf. Chapek also feels there are still true believers who “hold the torch” for the brand.
In his new book to be released on September 29, 2026, by Gallery Books, Chapek discusses his feud with Iger, how he felt that he was pushed out of the role, and how he believes he helped put the wheels in motion for Josh D’Amaro’s promotion to Disney’s current chief executive.
