The removal of scaffolding continues on the right side of the Tower of Terror, located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The attraction continues to undergo exterior refurbishment, which began in early May.

Tower of Terror Scaffolding

During our recent visit to the Tower of Terror on Monday, September 28, we noticed that more scaffolding has been removed and revealed the refurbished facade.

On the right side of the building by the attraction and gift shop exit, more metal rows were now gone near the two top windows with green shutters, as seen above. To the right of the windows, even more rows were removed. In our last update earlier this month, there were yellow cut-out squares, which have seemingly been painted over or filled.

Meanwhile, the far right side of the area, as well as the front, is still covered in scaffolding.

Crews began installing scaffolding on the far right of the facade above the gift shop in early July. However, refurbishment began in the outdoor queue in early May. Later that month, flags came down from the gift shop exit, and scrim covered some facade details. Despite all of this, the ride remains open. We’re unsure when the refurbishment will be complete.
