Crews have installed more scaffolding on the Bay Lake side of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Refurbishment moved to this side of the A-shaped building last month.

The refurbishment area is now blocked by temporary barriers. The scaffolding on the far left is not any taller, but beige scrims now cover several balconies above the platforms. Scaffolding has been added in two more architectural bays closer to the center of the building.

This work is on the southern end, near the Convention Center. The last tower of scaffolding is not completed, but there’s plenty of scaffolding pieces staged on the ground for installation.

This summer, crews were working on the Magic Kingdom side of the resort. They aren’t making major changes to the facade, just fixing up balconies, walls, and windows.
Construction at Contemporary Resort began in September 2024. Though originally scheduled for completion in September 2025, Disney later said it would last through July 2026 and then changed the timeline to the end of 2027.
