Main Street, U.S.A. Horses Retire

As of Thursday, October 1, 2026, no more streetcars will transport guests on Main Street, U.S.A. Disney has not announced a replacement.
The retirement news was announced this past July and follows the retirement of the horses who appeared in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show, which closed permanently in 2020.
Similar to other Disney Parks, the horse-drawn streetcars have been a staple of Disneyland Paris since its 1992 opening. There are three streetcars pulled by Percherons who live on-site at Pony Farm.
The large backstage area in Frontierland where the horses (as well as goats) live could then be bulldozed for future expansion of the park.
